Hello everyone,

I’ve had this external DVD player for 3 years now and it has been working perfectly until this month. It no longer recognizes CDs/DVDs (it says the media is not compatible), whereas when I plug it into another computer running Windows, it works just fine...

It hasn’t taken any hits!! It started in October when it stopped recognizing CDs, in November I was able to watch DVDs and now nothing...

I’m at a loss, I restarted my computer, it’s up to date, the DVD player is properly connected, everything should be fine, but it’s not... My MacBook Pro (from 2013) detects the drive with the DVD inside but nothing happens, it doesn’t start the movie or anything...

Thank you in advance for your help!!

    Hello,

Did you happen to update Mac OS?
If so, check the ASUS website to see if there has been a driver update.

      Hello,

I haven't made any updates since the last time I used the external drive. Additionally, it says on Asus and other distributors that it is compatible with Mac OS version 10 and above... I really don't understand and it's frustrating me, I really need it...

      Good evening,

He can no longer recognize burned or blank CDs/DVDs? We need more details; we are not clairvoyants and without a crystal ball, and even if we were robots, we couldn't guess ;-)

      Good evening,

These are commercial CD/DVD burns (not pirated or anything). They can be read by any other player, so the problem really lies with the external DVD reader...

I sent a request to Asus hoping they can help me, fingers crossed!!

do a cleanup by using a CD cleaner.
