Hello,
I've been wanting to try working on Ubuntu for quite some time now, but I'm having trouble getting my persistent USB drive to work... Let's just say I don't want to migrate to Ubuntu right away or set up a dual boot. I'd prefer to gain some experience before having my Windows 10 coexist with Linux.
To summarize, I have currently created an installation USB with "LinuxLive USB Creator" and activated persistent mode with 4 GB (my USB is actually 16 GB). However, I am only offered to try Linux (which doesn't save anything) or install it, but I can't choose my USB drive as the installation destination, only the HDD of my computer.
If anyone knows how to help me with this, it would be very kind, or even redirect me to an article/video on the procedure to follow.
Thank you in advance!

Hello there! Have you checked Mini tools partition? The problem might come from a bad partitioning of the USB key.

Hello,
Normal.
Persistence allows saving data that persists on the USB key live. Not the installation of Ubuntu on the USB key, not very recommended actually (as with other OSes), since it will bring limitations and a poor user experience due to the slowness that USB brings...

Good evening,
Why not install Ubuntu on the USB stick with Unetbootin, which handles live trials and installation (including parallel installation with Windows) very well?
By the way, I don't know what a persistent USB stick is.

Hello,
To get an idea, you should rather install a virtual machine. Your experience will be much better.
I am also attaching a link that will allow you to test as many distributions as you want without installing anything. It is obviously quite limited but interesting: https://distrotest.net/
