Hello,
I would like to print a 96-page document (in 6 booklets, each containing 4 sheets). I created my document in InDesign, and now I want to perform automatic imposition in InDesign.
So I go to:
- File > Print Booklet
However, the dialog box offers a saddle stitch imposition, which creates one large booklet...
Is it possible to specify a desired number of booklets?
Also, another question, I saw that the format for exporting the imposed file is in PostScript (.ps), is there no way to export it as a .pdf? (I’m not sure my copier will recognize the .ps format)
Thank you very much.

InDesign offers imposition for a saddle-stitched brochure.
Imposition in assembled signatures (sewn) is not possible from the software... unless you do it manually, which for 96 pages is not very complicated and quite fast.
Otherwise, there are imposition software like Quite Imposing, but they are generally plugins for Acrobat "Pro," and it's not free....
For output, you need to change the printer... (print settings in the "Print Booklet" window)... But if you are on a MAC, I don't know, the menus and functions are not the same as on PC.

Thank you very much for this very clear response.
At least this will save me from searching for a non-existent function in InDesign for a long time.
Before reading this message, I had already decided to do my 96-page imposition manually.
Thank you for informing me about Quite Imposing, I didn't know about it, it will be very useful for larger works.
