Hello friends,
I helped a friend because his USB drive had a problem: file and folder names were unreadable (random ASCII characters).
I ran a checkdsk and managed to recover 90% of the files.
Then, I wanted to fix everything. The formatting was refused, so I did a "Clean" in Diskpart.
Since then, the drive is detected but shows a capacity of 0.0 GB (it's a 16 GB drive).
No matter which Diskpart command I try, the response is always the same:
Virtual Disk Service error:
There is no media in the device.
The various utilities I've found are powerless (HPUSBFW_Special, Restore, USBFormatToolSetup, ...).
Does anyone have an idea?
Thank you and have a good day

Same for the Windows Disk Manager, which is actually the Diskpart version but with a Graphical User Interface. The disk appears, but there is no volume. It is impossible to create one because the system responds that there is no media. The drive couldn't have suffered a HARD failure with the CLEAN command of Diskpart.
