Incorrect total number of pages

Bonjour,
I need to number a document starting from the second page (the first being the cover page). I have therefore made a section break to achieve this, but now I have another problem: the total number of pages includes my cover page. I have 14 pages of documents, and on the 14th page, the pagination indicates 14/15.
How can I fix this, please?

    Hello,

Since you inserted a section break (which wasn't necessary by the way), instead of using the {NUMPAGES} field, use the {SECTIONPAGES} field.

Just so you know, to visualize the fields it's Alt+F9, and you replace NUMPAGES with SECTIONPAGES.

If you have other sections, it will be more complicated because you'll have to add the page numbers from each section. In that case, the first section break is probably unnecessary. It should be deleted and you just need to deduct 1 from the page count.

That said, if you had used the "Cover Page" feature in Word, it would have been even simpler because this first page is not counted.

Hello Marina, and thank you for this response.
I know very little about Word, and I had used this method of section break to number from the second page because it was the one I found on Google, but if you have a simpler solution, I'm all ears.
I tried switching from NUMPAGE to SECTIONPAGE, but the problem is that I inserted other section breaks in my document, and as a result, it only numbers one of them. Do you have any other idea to solve the problem, please?

      Good evening
      I gave you the solutions...
In my opinion, the simplest one is to use the Cover Page function.
Otherwise, we need to know why you added a section break after the cover page. If the problem is only not having a header and/or footer, you just need to choose Different First Page, and then you format starting from the 2nd page.

For the Multiple Sections solution, I explain here:
