Task Manager Issue, Disk at 0%
Solved
Hello everyone,
I own an ASUS S46CM-WX050H laptop, a machine that is starting to get old as I bought it new in 2013-2014. I have recently encountered serious performance issues, with the machine consistently lagging for simple tasks such as word processing, browsing the internet, and viewing images. After trying to identify the problem, I noticed, by consulting the task manager, that the processor is usually around 17%, memory at 67%, and the disk at 0%, which seems very curious to me. Does anyone have an idea of what the issue might be? Thank you again.

Hello J,
First of all, we recommend conducting a thorough scan of your drive with antivirus software or a malware removal tool to check for any threats to your drive.
Additionally, you can test your drive with a diagnostic tool of your choice to confirm its health.
Good luck,

Dear seagate_surfer,
Thank you very much for your response! It's hard to understand; I ran a full scan of the computer with my usual antivirus last night which found nothing, and I tested the disk's performance with CrystalDiskInfo which showed the disk's health status as "good." I wanted to run a second scan this morning using another anti-malware software, and I noticed that before the scan even finished, the disk was now running normally at 33% whereas it had been at 0% for more than two weeks. The scan also didn’t reveal anything truly concerning, except for a tracking cookie. I just don’t understand! In any case, thank you very much for your valuable help!
