Hello,

This is my first time posting on the forum so I hope I don’t forget any necessary information for you to help me (I’m clearly not an expert).

For the past few days, whenever I launch the game PUBG, the CPU is running at 100% and my FPS drops significantly (around 16fps) for my setup.

CPU: Intel Core i5 (7th generation) 7300HQ - 2.5 GHz
IPS - 1920 x 1080 (Full HD)
RAM: 8 GB (1 x 8 GB)
1 To HDD SATA 6Gb-s - 5400 RPM - 128 Go SSD - (M.2) PCIe
Graphics processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 - Intel HD Graphics 630

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 68.0.3440.106

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. Chrome is obviously closed when I play; it was only running while I posted on the forum! I checked and all the drivers are up to date. All that's left is to check that the game launches properly with the Nvidia card, but it seems strange to me that it wouldn't, given that I haven’t changed anything.

You can launch the game and check in the performance tab of the task manager
is the graph on GPU usage set to Nvidia or Intel?

Oh yes, you have the processor at 100%.
In the bottom right, we see that the Intel HD Graphic 620 drivers are at 23.20
It doesn't seem to be the latest version.

So:
Are you set to high performance in the Windows power options?

To check the computer, I invite you to perform this FRST analysis and return the reports:

Here’s what I did:

I'm good, I am.

no updates to be done.

I didn’t create the reports even though I took the time to read everything, and I’m keeping the instructions on hand just in case for next time because I was able to solve my problem in the meantime.

Indeed, I went from 16 FPS in the game menu to >300 FPS and from 5/10 FPS on very low in-game to about 90 FPS with ultra settings for textures and very low for the rest.
The change I made: In the Nvidia 3D menu, I simply clicked “Restore.”
