USB Drive Error Message

Hello,

I keep getting a message from Windows saying that it has a problem with my USB drive and that I need to analyze and repair it. This message appears every time I plug in my USB drive. I know, and I am sure, that there is no problem with my USB drive because I am very careful about what I download or the files I store on my USB drive.
Why does this message appear and how can I make it stop appearing for no reason?

Thank you.

    Good evening,
Yes, it needs to be analyzed and then repaired...

" how can I make it not appear for no reason anymore? "

No, there is a reason when Windows asks for a repair of the bad sectors; you need to initiate the repair. If the problem persists, it means the USB drive is encountering a hardware issue, so either use it in its current state or throw it away...

Does it appear in blue or red in the explorer?

When I analyze it and then repair it, I'm told no problems detected and I’m 1000% sure that there is no problem with my USB key.
It is blue, with 28.6GB and 16.7GB free.

out of 28.6GB there are 16.7GB free.

I have encountered this case once or twice with USB drives where there was a corrupted file on the drive, empty it and then see if the problem persists. ...

After emptying it, no message appears anymore. Can I put my files back onto my USB stick?

      Bingo ...
No, there is one of your files (or several) that is corrupted, you will need to proceed by elimination.

Send the files one by one, each time you send a file, disconnect and reconnect the USB drive until the error message reappears, that way you will identify the culprit ...

(Personally, I have a faster method to find the culprit, I scan the USB drive with my antivirus "Avast". The thing is, Avast cannot open the file to check it since it is corrupted, which generates an error message. After that, when the scan is finished, all you have to do is read the scan details in the Avast interface to know which file is causing the problem ....).

    Hi,

Run a chkdsk /f x: in the command prompt (CMD) as an admin.

Replace x with the letter of the USB drive.

      Type in the search: "cmd"

      Right-click on cmd.exe > Run as administrator.

      In: chkdsk /f x:

      There is an x

To be replaced by the letter of the drive.

When Windows detects a problem with a drive, do this instead of the repair attempt that Windows suggests.

Do you eject your USB stick when you take it out of a computer or not?
Otherwise, the problem comes from there

I just make sure to close the window and ensure there's nothing written on it when I eject it.

Same goes for my hard drives.
