Netgear Wi-Fi key not working anymore

Hello,

My Wi-Fi key (Netgear WNA3100M) is not working anymore. The computer recognizes it but the blue light is not turning on. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it but it still doesn’t work. I should mention that I have version V1.2.0.9: the latest one if I'm not mistaken.
Any solution?
Thank you in advance!

Configuration: Android / SamsungBrowser 6.4

    Hello,

Giving the color of a light doesn't indicate much... knowing its name and what it is for would be more useful to help you.
This WiFi is not native to the PC; it's an accessory that needs to be properly configured.
What is the Windows version of the PC..?

Does the Ethernet connection work..? because it doesn’t need a key.

What is the model of your BOX..? You probably have several WiFi signals emitted by your BOX... are you connected to the right one..? what is the SSID..? WPA or WPA2 encryption ++ AES etc..? the frequency 2.4 or 5 GHz..? the standard procedure... b/g/n, AC..? that’s a lot of issues to sort out, I would even say you should have a backup or write everything down in a notebook...

A Windows update could have completely ruined everything... these are common cases.

      Hello Jeannets,

Indeed, I think it's yet another one of those damn Windows updates that has caused everything to glitch. This isn't the first time...
      To answer your questions:
      - When I talk about the blue light that doesn't turn on, I'm referring to the only button on the key, which is the WPS.
      - For the Ethernet connection, I can't use it because I have a Surface Pro 3 with only one USB port. No Ethernet port...
      - The version of the PC is Windows 10.
      - The box is from SFR. I am connected to the right SSID.
After that, towards the end of your message, I didn't understand what you were talking about (I don't have much knowledge in IT :-/)

In any case, I tried to install a new driver provided by a user, but during the installation, when I was supposed to insert the key, it says that it is not found.

Do these details help clarify things for you?

It helps a little... a little. Which SFR BOX model..?? Are you on fiber or ADSL..?? The Boxes have a model written underneath or on the side... Can you take a readable photo..

Normally, you can enter the parameters automatically by using the WPS button on your Box... you have 10 minutes
Go see the explanations here https://assistance.sfr.fr/internet-tel-fixe/wifi-debit/connecter-equipement-reseau-wifi-wps.html

        Ok,
But you need to provide the link to the file here; otherwise, we won't see anything.

    Hi,
we don't say wifi key, but wifi/usb adapter
in order not to confuse it with the wifi key which refers to the password needed to access the wifi network.

    and... There you have it!

OK, good nuance to avoid confusion... it's true that nowadays everyone talks about their "Portable," but in fact, we don't really know what they are talking about... Phone, Camera, PC, and so on.

-- That said, I don't understand why @Sann333 is using a "Wi-Fi/USB Adapter" on this tablet; because it has its own Wi-Fi
    Bluetooth 4.0 === Wi-Fi 802.11ac/802.1

Luckily, since I don't have an Ethernet connection and only one USB port, it would become impossible to connect it.

So, why not use the existing Wi-Fi..??
From there to imagine that there could be a conflict between the two, it's just a step away..

I still have the impression of having gotten sidetracked on the road to school.

Simply because the Wi-Fi card is dead. I wouldn't have bought an adapter otherwise, you can be sure of that.

Maybe... but several people have watched it and come to the same conclusion. Personally, I don't know much about computers, so I rely on what these people (whom I know well) have told me. And it's not for lack of having spent time on it.
And right now, it's on this adapter problem that I need to focus.

Yes, but I'm going to ask you more relevant questions because there are too many Wi-Fi connections on this machine... And inevitably, one is interfering with the other.
So first thing... a screenshot (or a clear photo) of the "Device Manager," particularly focused on the network card... here or on cjoint.com, attaching the link here

To do this: (Windows Key + R) ====
      devmgmt.msc
you will see, click on the little triangle to the left of the network card, you see the network cards... and you take this photo.

      Secondly, another command ====
      cmd /k ipconfig /all > ipconfig.txt & notepad.exe ipconfig.txt
this will generate a text file, copy it and attach it here by transferring it with a USB key.

So... I (re)checked that the wifi was indeed activated, so that's fine.
After that, I don't understand what you mean by the two different MAC addresses that are not neighboring...
In any case, I haven't tried to install anything else beforehand. I've had this adapter for a month and a half. Before, the computer's Wi-Fi card was working perfectly. It suddenly stopped working from one day to the next.
So right now, I have no idea what manipulations I can do...

Brupala, you are talking about Windows virtual adapters and not about Netgear. What does that mean? Because I did uninstall and reinstall the Netgear adapter...

The Netgear is not seen in the network connections, is it properly activated?

when you turned on the wifi... what was it like before..?
and did you make sure to enable the Marvell AVASTAR one... because for me, it works if you don't disable it.

and what is the Wifi icon at the bottom of the screen like..?? and what happens if you click on it..??
