Hello,
I tried to install an application via Safari, but the screen turned black and my MacBook Pro restarted, asking me if I wanted to reopen my pages, and I said no as usual. I went back into Safari, but I realized that Safari and its status bar were in English. I tried to change the language by going into "System Preferences," but the selected language is French. I don’t know what to do anymore, can you help me?

Configuration: Macintosh / Safari 10.1.2

Hello,

You can try this:
  • quit the Safari application
  • open the "Applications" folder -> "Utilities"
  • launch "Terminal"
  • in the window that opens, type the command:
    defaults write com.apple.Safari AppleLanguages '(fr)'
  • press the Enter key ( ↩︎ ) to execute the command
  • Restart the Mac

Safari should be back in French

Another possibility: use a tool like Language Switcher which allows you to switch any application to any language, thus setting Safari back to French

The first solution worked well. Thank you.

I did the manip and it works well, but I read the other comments, and I saw that someone got caught with an Adobe Flash Player update, and since then I've had problems with Safari which was in English. But I wondered if I was attacked by that virus and what to do to eliminate it?
