Safari switched languages by itself

I've already tried and it doesn't work.
However, I did some additional tests.
I created a new user and logged in under this new session.
The problem with Safari is not present.
Perhaps a workaround for some who were told to reset their Mac and it didn't ultimately solve the issue.

geswann: For your information, I found the Safari preference file that is infected by weknow under Mojave (2 minutes to delete the 2 system profiles created by Weknow, 2 hours for Safari's language to scour the net...):

- Quit Safari
- Under Macintosh HD⁩ ▸ ⁨Users⁩ ▸ ⁨(USER) ▸ ⁨Library⁩ ▸ ⁨Containers⁩ ▸ ⁨com.apple.Safari⁩ ▸ ⁨Data⁩ ▸ ⁨Library⁩ ▸ ⁨Preferences
- Delete the file "com.apple.safari.plist"
- Relaunch, it should be fine

Go to Finder and click on "Go" at the top, and if you don't see the Library section appear, hold down the Alt key and then click on Library. Go to Containers and find the file com.apple.safari.plist" and delete it, then restart your PC and Safari should normally be back in French; this worked for me. However, I have the same issue with Google and I don't know which file to delete :(

Well, with a bit of trouble, I finally managed to do the same thing for Chrome which had turned into English. It's okay, it's back in French like before.

I got tricked by an Adobe Flash Player update and have since removed the weknow.ac virus.
Malwarebytes performed a scan and cleaned the detected threats. I checked the apps and Prefadmin, and I don't see anything malicious appearing anymore.
But the Safari bar remains in English...
Any advice on switching back to French or further detecting other suspicious applications?

How did you do it? I really can't get it deleted...

Hello, well I did what was instructed but Safari is still in English after the Adobe Flash Player update... grrrr.

ouiiii! Do a copy-paste! of the sentence given by SUPER Ritchie: / default write....'(fr)' / in his post. Then go to utilities and terminal. Paste it in the window that opens and hit "enter". I had been struggling for 2 months, and yes, this is the thing that works! Thank you, thank you!

Same response as to all the persons for whom it didn't work: please take a screenshot or a photo (readable!!) so that I can see the reason for this failure.
Just in case, here’s some help on:

Note1: Select the interesting part and not the entire screen, otherwise the image will be too large and the texts will be unreadable.

I tried the Language switcher, which indeed launches Safari in French. However, when I close and reopen Safari, it's back to English.
For your information, I've tried all the tips suggested here...
