That's not what I was suggesting. Try installing Canon's software for Windows 8.1.

Otherwise, to upgrade from Windows 8 to 8.1, you just need to update Windows. In my opinion, you already have 8.1.

yes I misunderstood you...
I might already be using Windows 8.1...
when I click on "Control Panel" then "System"
I see the "Windows 8" logo and it states "Windows 8.1" for the edition
but I have a problem anyway...when I install the printer installation software:
the result is "printer not recognized" even with a USB cable....
this is my first "Wi-Fi" printer...before it wasn't the case....I feel like I'm going to struggle....
if you have any idea what might be wrong?

please note that the printer should not be connected to the PC during installation.
connect it when the program prompts you, it must be functional and powered on.
you can continue with the installation

For now, it seems to be progressing in the right direction... it's settling in....
the USB connection works for me.... maybe one day I'll try the wifi.... but for now I'm happy.... it looks like it's working, and especially the computer recognizes it... phew....

I think I had selected the software that was not suitable for Windows 8.1 at the beginning of my first installation yesterday, and as a result, I got this message that it didn't recognize the printer...

I followed exactly what Canon asked me, and now "printer detected..."
"test print in progress"....
phew ... thank you very much!!! because I urgently needed it
