ASUS S56C Problem PCI Data Acquisition Drivers Solved

Question

Hi,

Following the purchase of an ASUS UltraBook S56C, Model K56CM.
I wanted to revert the PC to Windows 7 64Bit, as I haven't fully gotten used to
Windows 8.
I searched for my model on your site, installed everything, however, one of them,
and several unknown devices cannot be found, namely:

- PCI data acquisition and signal processing controller
- Unknown device (represented 7 times)

Can you help me resolve this issue, to find a link to download these
missing drivers?

Here is the hardware ID:

Consequences: Disk display on the computer is sometimes very slow.
I have an i7 core, 4GB of RAM, so I assume that the problem comes from these uninstalled drivers.

Please note that I have contacted ASUS support multiple times without finding a solution to this issue, so I am posting this message on the site to find a solution.

I have already updated the BIOS and searched for drivers all over the internet, Google, Ma-Config.com, all drivers, updates via Windows Update, all to no avail.

Hello, I had the same problem as you with these drivers (because I installed Windows 7 64 on an ASUS S56CM and I found the solution:

You need to go to http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&m=S56CM&p=3&s=440&os=30&hashedid=wTrMuFq0rwlW7dcv

Then download the following driver in the "OTHER" tab: Intel® Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver

Unzip it and install it.

And there you go.

Already done a long time ago, and nothing regarding the driver I'm looking for.
I have searched on all Asus support, my config.com, all the drivers and I haven't found it.

Hi Rem54,

Indeed, that's the solution; it took me 2 months to find it.
Asus should have put this driver in the driver section and not elsewhere.

Unfortunately, I also have another problem.
I'd like to know if you have the same issue; actually, I reinstalled Windows 7 on this PC, and when I open the computer icon to access my drives and partitions, sometimes 1 out of 2 or 3 times the hard drives do not appear or take an indefinite amount of time to show up.

I don't know why??? If you have the same problem or if you have a solution to this issue, please help me resolve it.

Hi

For your issue with the very slow workstation access, I think it might be the chipset driver that is perhaps not installed or the SD card driver.

The Intel chipset driver is as follows: http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&m=S56CM&p=3&s=440&os=36&hashedid=wTrMuFq0rwlW7dcv
Then download the driver from the "CHIPSET" tab.

The SD card reader driver is as follows: http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&m=S56CM&p=3&s=440&os=36&hashedid=wTrMuFq0rwlW7dcv
Then download the driver from the "Card Reader" tab.

For your information, I installed Win 7 64 and updated the BIOS, and it's working very well.

Hi,

Thank you for your help, so I have Windows 7 64Bits like you.
I followed your instructions, the chipset was up to date, I even have a newer chipset than the one offered by ASUS.
And the driver for the SD card reader was already installed.

However, I updated the BIOS, I went from version 206 to 209.

I'm waiting to see how that goes, if you have any other ideas feel free to let me know.

Hi Rem54,

I'm getting back to you because I'm still having this hard drive display issue.
I've updated the BIOS and all the drivers are up to date.
I have no idea where this could come from; sometimes it works for an hour and then I can't see the hard drives anymore, having trouble accessing folders and subfolders.
I took a screenshot but I don't know how to post it on the site.

Hi

You may have a problem with the BIOS configuration
Here’s how mine is set up

BOOT
BOOT CONFIGURATION
LAUNCH CSM [ENABLE]
LAUNCH PXE OPROM [DISABLED]

BOOT OPTION PRIORITIES
BOOT OPTION #1 P1: SANDISK SSD-I10
BOOT OPTION #2 P2: MATSHITADVD-RAM

Normally, if it’s like mine, you have an SSD and you need to install Windows 7 on it.
Otherwise, you might need to reformat; sometimes it’s faster.

Hello,
You who were able to install Windows 7 on this laptop!
The problem is that after numerous formats of the SSD in NTFS (ACTIVE MBR) where it always wanted UEFI to install Windows 7 on it, I no longer have access to the BIOS at all and the computer starts and shuts down after a few seconds. Even if I manage to get to the BIOS now with the F2 key, it still shuts down after 3 seconds.

Sorry, false alarm, my computer ran out of battery, I have access to the BIOS again, but I still can't install Win 7 on the entire SSD.
It keeps mentioning UEFI, how to uninstall this UEFI to format it to NTFS.
During installation, Windows 7 wants to create 3 partitions:
1) 100 MB system
2) 128 MB MSR (reserved)
3) 22.1 GB Primary
Is that normal?
How did you do it on your side?
