Hello everyone,
My girlfriend recently bought an EPSON Stylus D92 (the latest from EPSON). I installed it (just the drivers) and it worked for about... 4 days. Since then, it’s been impossible to print. As soon as we turn it on, both lights (green and orange) remain lit as if there’s a problem, and yet the cartridges are almost new, there’s paper, and everything is set up correctly since it worked for a few days (and we haven't touched anything).
Additionally, I executed the stand-alone print test (without the PC, just using the printer buttons) by following the procedure specified by EPSON (which is supposed to print something) but nothing happens, which clearly shows that the problem lies with the printer itself and not with the PC or the connection.
Do you have any ideas regarding this breakdown?

Five months ago, I bought a printer at FNAC; it worked for 2 days and prints intermittently... and my problem is that it doesn't pick up the paper... do you have a solution?
Thank you for your understanding!!!

Hello,
Same here, big issues with the EPSON D92! It worked for a week, and as soon as the Epson Status Monitor 3 icon disappeared, the troubles began. I couldn't reactivate it despite completely uninstalling the drivers, software, and the printer. I also deleted the registry keys before reinstalling the printer and its drivers… But to no avail, still no Epson Status Monitor and the two indicators that remain desperately lit.
I personally think there's a major communication problem between the printer and the PC's USB port, the driver is probably to blame.
If a colleague has solved the issue, I'm all ears. ;-)

Are the cartridges Epson??? Otherwise, the printer is blocked even when disabling Status Monitor!! Thank you, Epson.

Good evening,
I recently purchased an Epson Stylus D92 to replace a Canon BJC 2100. Indeed, as sbabette mentioned above, it is louder when powering on and loading sheets. However, the printing is still faster and the benefit of separate color cartridges is interesting.
Regarding installation, the manual clearly states in point 7 that the USB cable should not be connected to the PC until the installation program prompts for it. If Windows' automatic detection software finds the printer, you should click "Cancel." It is also indicated that the cartridges supplied with the printer have a shorter lifespan than replacement cartridges and are primarily intended to prime the print heads. Therefore, one should not be surprised by an early "breakdown" related to an empty cartridge. The cartridges must also be perfectly clicked in place as the compartment door can be closed with partially inserted cartridges. I fell for this point myself.
So, first insert the CD-ROM and launch the installation program from the CD and connect the printer to the PC only when prompted.
For my part, I let the program install the entire suite of software provided on the CD, including the manual that ends up on the desktop. This manual contains troubleshooting information at the bottom left. I will just note for loading issues that you should not squeeze the sheets too tightly with the slider. But also, from reading the troubleshooting section, that the printer has a cleaning cycle counter for the nozzles, leading to ink being stored in a large absorbent pad at the back of the printer. If this counter reaches its maximum value, the printer stops responding. It is indicated to contact customer service. For my BJC 2100, I had found the procedure to reset this counter by manipulating the power cable, the test button, and the cartridge loading door, rather than paying for a customer service call that was more expensive than the machine. After completely disassembling the machine, it is enough to clean the absorbent pad that serves as a water reservoir and put everything back in place.
For breakdowns, information is provided in the troubleshooting section of the manual installed on the desktop, specifying the meanings of the indicators.
If a kind soul finds the procedure to reset this pesky cleaning cycle counter for this printer, I would appreciate it.
Best regards

Good evening
It is possible to disable the monitor: from the printer manager, right-click on the printer and select "Properties," then the button at the bottom "Printing Options." Choose the "Utility" tab and at the bottom the button "Speed and Progress," and the second box in the first column on the left, if checked, will disable EPSON Status Monitor.
Information about the printer should be available in the manual by using the tests from the user manual available on the desktop if the installation is complete, or from the printing options screen just before the last screen containing the checkbox.
Best regards.

To install the cartridge, I manually moved the carriage (head). Now it's not printing and making a deafening noise.
Hello,
I also have an Epson 92 D that bugged out, aside from the paper issues it's the same, I'm under warranty so I contacted the Epson website online (like instant messaging MSN) and a charming man had me completely uninstall the software in a way that I couldn't possibly relay to you, but anyway even if the printer does indeed work (for now) the status monitor and ink level don't work. On the other hand, good news, we can do without it, at least for the cartridge levels.
The explanations are given in the manual: basically, if the orange button is flashing you need to open the lid (I can't remember if you need to press this orange button) and see where the carriage stops, there is a little mark (yes, really look closely) that indicates which color is empty; of course it is empty, it should have been anticipated, but lacking better I’m using it like this and for now it works.
Epson's advice is that if their uninstall/reinstall didn't work, it's a problem with my computer, a Windows files issue......
To each their own.

Hello everyone!! After several attempts at "install-uninstall" and here we go again....
The printer always displayed the "Christmas tree"....
I'm not an expert in this area; but I think I've found a workaround:
I "uninstalled" (add/remove programs) (device manager) etc., etc...
And quite simply, I went to the little dog of "search" (the magnifying glass in the start menu)
and told it: epson stylus d92 and to search in all folders and subfolders;;
Then I deleted everything I found.... (insisting on the folder icons (the yellow ones))
Even with a second-hand printer, it worked!!!
Good luck to everyone!!!!
Otherwise, change your printer.
I recognize that it's a nightmare!!!!!
Zaf.

Good evening,
A little tip for those who are having trouble installing this printer from....
I recently bought a new hard drive. So I reinstalled Windows on a clean medium and a new Windows free of any unwanted installations, and miraculously, the printer was detected again and the ink level is working once more despite using compatible cartridges.
I won't say that it's necessary to format the hard drive to reinstall this beautiful printer, but our friends at Epson have provided us with a nice piece of junk driver that can't uninstall or reinstall properly!
See you later...

The Epson Stylus 1160 printer had the ink light blinking. I therefore replaced the cartridge with a new original one. Since then, the ink and paper lights on the printer are flashing everywhere, and it is impossible to do anything.
I have exactly the same problem. Did you resolve this issue? IF YES, I would like you to please inform me. Thank you in advance.
Hello
I also have a small problem with my Stylus D92.
When I set it up on a computer-to-computer Wi-Fi network through a modem-router on my laptop, I can print, but the status monitor keeps displaying even after the printing is finished.
If you have a solution, please let me know.
Best regards

Good evening
I would also be interested in the reset procedure. Thank you, Scratchy, for pointing out that your D92 is also noisy; that reassures me. I was afraid I had forgotten something inside when unboxing.
But you're not really solving my problem here. I can't plug the printer's USB cable into the laptop since it's already connected to the desktop PC.
So I would like to know how to go about installing it over a Wi-Fi network in peer-to-peer (from one computer to another) without the status monitor going crazy.
Thank you
Sbabette

A small tip for those having trouble installing.
I had to reinstall the driver after formatting my hard drive. For some reason, there was no more automatic detection of the printer! So installation failed.
I found a makeshift solution: I only installed the driver (on the CD, you need to select advanced installation and check: install the driver only)
And miracle, it prints! But on the downside, no more status monitor, so it's impossible to know which cartridge is empty!
For those having problems with paper feeding: I had the same issue.
My solution: fewer sheets, and especially good quality paper, as very thin or creased sheets are fed very poorly.

Hello everyone,
More information about this printer!
I recently changed my PC and miracle, all the detections are working again! Even the ink level detector despite having non-original cartridges.
I wouldn't go so far as to recommend formatting the hard drive to reinstall the printer, but please Mr. Canon, a driver update is necessary!
Good luck to all those who are having problems.
