Problems with Epson Stylus DX7400 printer

Hello,

I replaced all my cartridges, all empty. I took the black one from Epson, and for the colors: the Carrefour brand (matching codes).
Unfortunately, nothing is working! The "red dot" keeps blinking incessantly. Plus, an E is flashing on the copy icon.
I reinstalled the drivers
I also went through the device properties, and it tells me that my cartridges are empty!

I correctly installed the cartridges, following the colors as indicated

Thank you for your help.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Safari 535.7

    Hello,

Epson printers are very picky about generic cartridges.

For example, I recently changed the cartridges in my EPSON and out of 4 generic ones, it refused one. Luckily, I had kept the receipt and I exchanged the refused cartridge for an identical one, which this time was accepted by the printer.

Get your cartridges exchanged by Carrefour if they are not accepted by your printer.

Thank you Polux, but I didn't keep the ticket.... =(
But what I don't understand is that the black Epson is not even recognized!!!

Yes, indeed, it's strange... Have you checked your printer's manual to see what might be causing the blinking E and the red droplet?

Have you tried to take out all the cartridges and re-insert them one by one?

Did you remove the tape that allows airflow on the cartridges?

I no longer have the manual...

Yes, took out all the cartridges... put them back... Took out all the colors, left only the black Epson; same, no ink....

:-) Of course the tape was removed.....

The manual is available on the EPSON website

When you changed the cartridges, were they all empty? And if so, had they been empty for a long time? I'm saying this because the nozzles may have clogged if the printer stayed for a long time with empty cartridges.

I am going to check on Epson...

Yes, empty. No, it didn't stay more than two days with empty cartridges...
But... I set it aside because I had the error message. Now, I really need it and have decided to try to solve the problem...
