You are not connected to the internet.

Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out to you for a very annoying little problem that's been going on for a while.

On my Acer laptop running Windows 10, connected via wifi to a SFR box, it often happens that the internet stops working and the message “You are no longer connected to the internet” appears in my browser.

I thought it was the box, since every time this happens I unplug it and plug it back in and the internet comes back, except that when this problem occurs, the phones connected to the box via wifi are still working.

I contacted SFR customer service, which hasn’t recorded any outages on my line for several days… so I guess the problem is with my PC? Should I change the wifi channel? If so, how do I choose it?

What can I do according to you?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
the problem seems to be recurrent with SFR boxes, look up "SFR DNS issue" on this forum.
You can try changing the channel, setting the box to single Wi-Fi protocol (B, G, N), or switching to another ISP...

Thank you for your response, I will look into all of that. But I believe the last proposal will be the right one...
