Hello everyone,
Having moved on 04/16/2018, I decided to cancel my subscriptions, including my Freebox subscription: Freebox Crystal, which cost me €1.99 per month for a year and then €29.99 per month.
Finding the cancellation process too complicated, I decided on 03/27/2018 to cut ties with Free by revoking the direct debit mandate (La Banque Postale) and returning the equipment via the labels downloaded online (I admit that this action of mine is a bit drastic). NOTE: the equipment was sent well after the revocation of the direct debit mandate, around 05/04/2018.
On May 2, 2018, a mandate was created on my bank account (without my knowledge), and on May 7, 2018, I was charged €37.49 (invoice for May + late payment fees for the unpaid April invoice, as indicated on my Free account). I noticed all this today, and I wonder to what extent this is possible? Can I contest all of this?
I have revoked this fraudulent mandate and plan to call La Banque Postale as soon as it reopens tomorrow at 8 a.m. In the meantime, am I protected from further withdrawals?
Thank you in advance for your reading and understanding. Have a good evening (it's 8:30 p.m. where I am!),
Mick

You did not follow the rules...
With a SEPA mandate, you have given the debtor the authorization to present the amounts to be debited to your bank..
The SEPA mandate is an authorization in your name to debit.. and no longer an authorization for your bank to be debited! ...
It caused a stir at the time because the procedure gives the impression that it is the creditor who possesses all the rights.. but that is not the case if we follow the procedure...
You must therefore inform the creditor that you are revoking the mandate, and your bank that the mandate has been revoked... It amounts to the same thing except that it requires extra letters!!
