Hello and sorry to bother you.
A friend entrusted me with his Asus Transformer T100AF to try to repair it. At startup, there is a blue screen "Recovery". "Your computer/device needs to be repaired." "A required device isn’t connected or accessible." "Error code 0xc0000225."
My only option is the Windows key to access the UEFI firmware. I should note that it’s a PC/tablet or the screen detaches, if that matters.
I tried booting from a USB drive with Windows — FAILED. After researching, I used the software Rufus to boot a USB with Windows 10 UEFI and Windows 8.1 UEFI — FAILED.
My USB drive has no indicator light, so I don’t even know if the PC is trying to access it.
I tried changing the boot order, but I only have access to the "boot manager" or "UEFI: scandisk cruiser blade 1.26" — FAILED.
I tried disabling the secure boot control — FAILED.
I tried launching "launch efi shell from filesystem device" and the response is "no found" (not found).
In short, my skill level is beyond me and that’s why I’m asking you to bother you. ;)
Oh, and sorry if I’m not in the right forum, but I didn’t find anything related.

Hello,
Was the USB key created in UEFI?
Try to set the BIOS option to "legacy".-
Hello Ginto5 and thank you for your quick reply. After your response I tried to understand how to switch from UEFI to Legacy, and despite the detailed explanation on a website, I realize I don’t have that option in the UEFI in question.
I also tried on my side to update the BIOS/UEFI and it turns out it’s already up to date.
However, I also noticed in my reading that UEFIs had quite a few issues with 32-bit Windows that they don’t have with 64-bit. So I’m going ahead with downloading a 64-bit Windows 10, converting back to UEFI, and I’ll test that while waiting for you to clarify things for me ;)
Thanks again for stopping by. -
In principle... all BIOSes allow you to choose UEFI/Legacy, but sometimes the option is hidden in a sub-menu of the BIOS, you have to look in every corner to find it.
Regarding 32-bit, I suppose there are no more recent machines (say within 3 or 4 years) that are not UEFI and 64-bit.
To create bootable USB keys, there is ETCHER, excellent, free and easy to use. -
I doubt that 32-bit is outdated, but that’s what it used to run on, so I didn’t want to play the amateur sorcerer given my limited self-taught knowledge.
To create a USB key in UEFI I use Rufus, but if it doesn’t yield any result I’ll try Etcher, just in case, again thank you for taking the time to help me ;)
