Hello,

Since today I have an issue when starting my Acer laptop, a padlock appears with "Security Boot fail" written underneath, along with the error message that follows

"Windows Boot Manager has been blocked by the current security policy"

Before posting this question, I performed a few operations including F2 then F9 "setup defaults" and then F10 "save and exit"
Without result

Except for other things, it's the secure boot that you need to disable in your BIOS; only for some BIOS, you need to enter an admin password to see the option (in the BIOS). Try to follow this topic: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/268548/how-to-fix-window-boot-manager-has-been-blocked-by-the-current-security-policy%EF%BB%BF-on-acerv5window-8-1

Thank you for your quick response, and that's exactly what I did. After setting a password, I was able to disable the boot. But I wonder where the problem comes from!?
For security reasons, I ran Avast, and a few unwanted files were found, but it seems to me that this is not where the problem lies.
Before I had this issue, I encountered a problem with my Task Scheduler. When opening the GeForce Experience application to update, I received an error message: "The Nvidia installer cannot continue. Before continuing, the Windows Task Scheduler service must be started. Please start the service and try again."
So I opened the Task Scheduler, and the following error message was: "The remote computer could not be found."

I think it comes from the Task Scheduler, but I'm not sure. I don't know much about computers.

Best regards.
