Hello,
I have a problem with the LCD screen that is fading (black screen) on a GIGASET AS 405 fixed phone. That is to say, the screen flickers, the letters and numbers appear and disappear just as quickly, as if there is a bad connection. I have tried replacing the batteries and changed the base, but it does the same thing.
For your information, I found it funny when I took the batteries from the other base to do the test that they apparently drained immediately.
If someone could help me or give me some ideas.
Best regards.

Hello,
You say "I've changed the batteries". but those aren't the batteries you need! They are rechargeable batteries
Technology: nickel-metal hydride (NiMH); size: AAA (Micro, HR03); voltage: 1.2V; capacity: from 450 to 1000mAh.
Simple batteries that risk exploding if placed on a charger.
If the handset remains on its base (or charger) and for example you press the menu button, does the display stay on?
It seems that the screen turning off indicates a weakness in the batteries, but it's strange that it drained the batteries of the other handset...
Did you indeed change both batteries?
Are these handsets old?
