Hello everyone,

I’ve got an old company computer. I don’t have full admin access and it’s blocking me!
I would like to format it. Can I go ahead with formatting without admin code?
I’m not really knowledgeable about this and I would really appreciate any help to get it back to full working order!

Hello,

You can reinstall Windows 7, but you need a license for Windows 7 for this computer.
Otherwise, you need to remove Windows from the domain, which requires an administrator account.
You also need the local administrator account.
From there, it will work like a "regular" computer.

Thank you for your response.
So for you, I don't need an admin code to reinstall W7. That's what I plan to do, but I've never done this (I'm not very skilled...) and I'm afraid of getting stuck during the reinstallation.

When reinstalling Windows, you create an administrator account so you'll have yours.

A license is required for this computer.

For any other operations, you need the local administrator account or to reset its password.
However, we cannot provide you with the procedure, since we are not sure that you have properly retrieved the computer from the company with their consent, etc.
