Driver Dazzle DVC 100 ?

Hello,

I am using the DVC 100 with Magix and I have a problem recording sound.

My DVC is connected to a VCR to capture VHS tapes.

The software recognizes the DVC audio driver and the sound works when watching the video.
But when I start recording, there is no sound anymore.

I can’t understand why.

Hello, I have a problem: when I start recording, everything is perfect. Once the recording is finished, it saves my video in the chosen folder, but the problem is that my video plays twice as fast as normal, and the sound is out of sync.

DAZZLE DVC 100 is fully compatible with Windows Movie Maker. Using this software produces a compressed video file with a wmv extension, which is a Microsoft standard.

I present the elements I use to make recordings:
- The computer is a Packard Bell running Windows XP SP2. It has 1 GB of RAM and was purchased in April 2006.
- The video source that allows me to record is a decoder IAD81 from Orange. This decoder is connected to the DAZZLE DVC100 via a SCART connector (composite video), and the DAZZLE DVC100 is connected to the PACKARD BELL computer via a USB port.
- Turn on the device used for recording (computer + video source).
- Launch the Windows Movie Maker software on the computer, which is part of the official Microsoft distribution with Windows XP.
- In the left column, click on "Capture from video device." A window will appear. Click on Dazzle DVC100, which should normally appear, and make sure to select DAZZLE DVC 100 in the video device option in the same window. If this precaution is not taken, you risk having a silent recording. Finally, click next.
- A new window appears. You need to specify the file name (without extension) and the save location. Click next.
- In the new window, if it hasn’t been done already, check "Optimal quality...” Click next.
- A video window appears without sound. Click to start capture when you decide. The sound should normally be recorded. Just check to be sure.
- At the end, click finish. The file will be created with the chosen name in the chosen location. It is playable with Windows Media Player. Its quality is acceptable despite the heavy compression.

Personal note: The video source can be, in my opinion, quite ordinary (VCR, television, etc...). I have only tested with IAD81 and a VCR.

I will send a second comment on my video concerns, but I will talk about a very interesting site for multimedia enthusiasts. I want to clarify that I have no particular interest with the authors of this site, which is likely American.
A video enthusiast may want to set up a personal TV channel where they can do live broadcasts with their webcam (for example) and stream live video and on-demand video to their future viewers. This kind of thing can be done for free on the American site http://www.mogulus.com. It’s better than YouTube where only recordings are possible. You can take a spot and broadcast yourself on the web with your webcam or stream films that you have recorded. I have done this operation on their site. There’s little chance of seeing me because I never broadcast with the webcam, but you can see, completely illegally, a Tom and Jerry, and two films on Video on Demand. I will provide you with the address but I ask you not to advertise it. I don’t want to get into trouble. I leave them on the site to mark my territory, but I now have other solutions which I will talk about in a second message by tomorrow evening.

I bought the same Dazzle Video Creator DCV100 box today with Vista 32 and it came with Studio 11, but I can't capture video because I get a message saying the cable isn't connected. The problem is that I have actually connected a scart cable from my VCR and RCA output to the Dazzle. I also installed the drivers from the website, and if anyone has the tip to capture with Movie Maker on Vista

I found a notice that talks about a CD included with the device.....
Before you connect your new Dazzle hardware to your computer’s USB 2.0 port,
first install the provided Pinnacle InstantDVD Recorder software.

Actually, by looking at the manual and asking questions to the "live hotline", I have a better understanding of how to use the product... Indeed, by connecting the VCR directly to the Dazzle box, it was already easier...

Now it works but:
1) I had to download the new version of Instant DVD Recorder (v.2.6) and the new patch for DAZZLE 100 DVC
2) Buy a composite video cable because it didn't work with an S-Video, the image was scrambled and in black and white.

3) Finally, in the preview window, the sound and image were OK but during recording, the sound was delayed on my laptop (Asus PC, 1.7 GHz and 502 MB of RAM). So I used the one at home (1.6 GHz PC but with 1024 MB of RAM) and there, miracle everything works!!!!

Next question: how can I make the video files "media file .vob" less bulky???

A product that has just been purchased must work, otherwise you need to contact the seller. One might think that the problem lies with the connection cable. On the SCART-RCA adapter of the VCR, check if the "switch" output-input (if it exists) is set to output.
Windows Movie Maker under Vista seems considerably limited compared to its version under XP. You can perform simple operations (stitching films, deleting sequences, adding transitions, etc...), but apart from DV cameras and perhaps a few other simple sources (a VCR is part of this in my opinion), it cannot retrieve much.
The free software Windows Media Encoder from Microsoft (to download) allows for more things, mainly with a DV camera; unfortunately, with the Dazzle DVC100, it does not allow sound recording at least on my equipment.

I've had a lot of problems with video capture from my Dazzle DVC100 ( http://cdn.pinnaclesys.com/SupportFiles/Hardware_Installer/readmeHW10.htm ).

- First, it was the box that was either recognized or not by my USB ports; I eventually found a port that "sees" it.
- Next, it was the SCART to RCA cable that was of poor quality (get a model that doesn't have any missing pins on the SCART side) or that didn't have the Input - Output switch.
- After that, I learned that my video card didn’t accept the signal from the VCR (it worked with my PSX). Yet, a Radeon X1950XTX, damn...

Anyway. I’ve resolved all these issues; now I'm capturing my films from Super8 to my PS3, using Pinnacle Studio 12 or Movie Maker. :-)
For Vista's Movie Maker, you can't capture from a box; I'm really disappointed...

Apparently, the driver for XP32, vista32, vista64 is the same for all DVC box models. (PCLEUSBx32.exe)

I have a DAZZLE DVD recorder, I believe the internal chip is similar to your DVC100, I think I saw that name in the drivers installed back in the day (XP).

Right now I'm on Windows seven 64 bits and I'm looking for the drivers for this hardware.

I have exactly the same problem,
it can find my webcam but not the DVC 100, I downloaded the drivers from the site but nothing works.

I have a Dazzle 90 with Studio 9 v9.4. With the original CD, there are drivers for all the Dazzles. In regedit, they are recognized as Dazzle 100. I have the newer versions, but I personally prefer 9.4. If it can help you, I can send you these drivers.... Yoyo.

Hello, I bought a Dazzle DVC 100 to transfer videos from my PlayStation 3 to my PC (YouTube channel) but I'm having a problem: the connections are perfect and everything, but I have a black frame; I can hear the sound but not see the video. So I'm wondering if I need an S-video cable or if it's because I'm using Windows 7 Home Edition!!! If someone can help me, I would be very grateful.

There's no way to download a driver without having the installation CD.
