Hello everyone
I am trying again to solve my problem on this side of the forum because on the hardware side, they took me for a novice which I definitely am not! But hey, I have a sense of humor...
Is there or is there not a proper driver for this damn USB Dazzle DVC 100 external capture box from Pinnacle?
Normally, you just plug it in and the installation happens automatically, but not for me. The hardware add window opens and asks me for the aforementioned driver!
Anyway, help!
Thanks in advance

So here is the table: I bought all the equipment but I just experienced a failure trying it for the first time today.
PC = ASUS A6000 purchased in September 2006 => installation perfect, the computer recognizes the equipment as "Dazzle DVC 100 video device" and it is listed as "Dazzle DVC 100 audio device" in device management.
Cables used = red+white for audio and S-VHS for video
I have a VCR that is connected to a "canal sat" box. The connection is as follows: TV => satellite box => VCR (all via SCART)
Finally, I connect everything: PC=>Dazzle => red+white+S-VHS cables =>TV
I turn on the TV, the satellite, and the VCR: the content of the VHS appears on the TV on EXT1 (there are EXT2, SVHS2, SVHS3).
I launch the Instant DVD Recorder program:
1) I select my hard drive
2) I choose the Dazzle box, with S-VHS, SECAM, audio VHS options
And then the disaster strikes. I think I should have the same images in the little box (looking like a TV) as on my TV ??? but I have a little black box !!!
3) I select, no menu
4) I start recording and the little box remains black...
Hypothesis: all the connections are good but EXT1 does not correspond to an S-VHS output and that would explain why I have no image... to be honest, I have nothing!!!
Can anyone help me ??? Nabuccod ????-
I must admit I don't understand what you want to do. There are two possibilities
1) Recording a CanalSat or CanalPlus TV movie in DVD format on a hard drive. A cable (video + audio) comes from the Scart socket of the CanalSat or CanalPlus decoder and connects to the Dazzle DVC100 which is linked to a Windows XP SP2 computer via a USB connector. In principle, there should be no problem using the Instant DVD Recorder software.
2) Converting a VCR tape into a file on the computer. The VCR is connected via a Scart socket (video + audio) to the Dazzle DVC100 which is also connected to the same computer. Everything worked perfectly.
I should specify that I was using composite video (yellow cable next to the audio cables), but I don’t think using S-video would be a problem.
If what you want to do doesn’t match either of the two previous hypotheses, please clarify your thoughts a bit more.
I apologize for the delayed response.
Best regards. -
Hello everyone,
a little gift from my daughters: a Dazzle DVC 100 to save my VHS on DVD... great idea!!! The catch is that with the right connections and cables, I have a preview window where the image appears fine (and in color!), but for the sound: NOTHING!
Is there someone smarter than me (which isn't too hard!) who could inspire a solution??? Thanks for your response because I'm stuck! -
