Network card not connected issue (I think) Solved

Question

Hello,  Well, I have a Toshiba L670 laptop running Windows 7. A few days ago, when I turned on the PC, the touchpad, keyboard, and internet stopped working, but Windows started up just fine. I fiddled around a bit, took a look in the BIOS, and ended up doing a system restore to an earlier date.  I managed to get the keyboard and touchpad working again, and I can restart without any issues. BUT there's no network. I've tried various solutions suggested online, but nothing works.  When I go to "Network and Sharing Center" and try to "troubleshoot problems," I always get the same response: The diagnostics policy service is not running. Whether I'm an administrator or not.  In Device Manager, I have 2 network adapters: Broadcom 802.11n network adapter Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller Both are working properly and are enabled.  What I found strange is in the "Task Manager" the service wlansvc is stopped. When I try to start the service, I get The operation could not be completed. Access denied.  That's it, thank you for your help, I've been struggling with this for 4 days and I have no idea. Note that the WiFi is working fine, we can pick it up on mobile devices.

Hello...  Do you have any tricks to do like Fn+F2... or +F? to activate the wifi? There might also be a button or switch on the machine... Is your wifi indicator on, blinking, or off? Hello  Is the Ethernet connection (wired) working correctly? re  ok with Poupougne's reasoning :), but apparently it's indeed the "incriminated" computer that has a problem...  The service is indeed stopped And the option to start it is greyed out. The Windows resource protection found corrupted files, but was unable to fix some of them.  I think you realize that the situation isn't good; you have corrupted system files... You are not talking about an earlier restore point? But about an image I would have made before, is that it?   Yes, I'm talking about an image/backup of the saved DVDs that we make at the first use of the PC (in theory)  Not all is lost, check in disk management if you still have the recovery partition  PS: the partition should be between 15 and 20 GB  WARNING: do not do any manipulations for now  See you later  -- The radiation level is higher at the employment office than at Chernobyl.

It's a computer that is 8 years old, and in the meantime, our external hard drive where we had this kind of thing among other things took a little bath.  Okay, if I understand correctly, the "original" HDD has been changed.  If that's the case, the recovery partition is no longer present on the new HDD.  PS: If you have documents etc... to save, do it now.  Let me know when it's done (if you need to do it).  Where is disk management?  Click on start >> right-click on computer >> manage >> disk management.  @+

Here  it's alright for the screenshot  PS: you only have 6% free space left on the C:\ partition  you should transfer some data to the D:\ partition because you need about 10 to 15% free for the C:\ partition to function properly  as I mentioned before, the "recovery" partition is no longer present in disk management  let me know if you've finished backing up your data  @+  -- the radiation level is higher at the employment agency than at Chernobyl

re  ok, do this:  exit all your running programs  download Windows Repair to your desktop click here  run it as administrator (right click)  when the installation is complete, click on "i agree"  click on "jump to repairs"  click on "open repairs"  in the page that opens, check all the boxes if not already done (except for those for W8/W10)  click on "start repairs" and let the PC work  when the software is done, restart the PC and let me know what it says  @+  -- the radiation level is higher at the employment office than at Chernobyl
