Le redémarrage post-installation ne donne rien

Bonjour à toutes et tous

Je cherche à quitter Windows 7 pour Ubuntu sur mon PC de bureau.

J'ai créé une clef USB de boot via Etcher sur mon Netbook (qui lui est déjà sous Ubuntu).

L'installation d'Ubuntu 16.4.1 (ou 16.4.3 ou v14 ou Mint ou d'autres distributions) semble se dérouler correctement.
Quand je reboote l'ordinateur, j'obtiens le menu suivant :
- Ubuntu
- Advanced options for Ubuntu
- Memory test (...some stuff...)
- Memory test (...some stuff...)
Mais, quand je choisis Ubuntu (ou attends jusqu'à ce qu'il se sélectionne tout seul), j'obtiens un écran noir avec seulement un curseur clignotant en haut à gauche.

J'ai essayé de retirer les options nomodeset, acpi=off, noapic, mais ça ne change rien.

Cette histoire n'a que trop duré et je n'ai vraiment pas envie de retourner sur Windows.

Si ça peut aider, on m'a dit qu'il n'était pas normal que le fichier grub.cfg soit en read-only dans la situation suivante :

    Bonjour,
    Donne les références exactes du pc.
    Tout fonctionne normalement en mode live ?
    Ca ressemble fort à un problème de carte graphique ça. D'habitude c'est l'option nomodeset ou acpi=off qui permet de contourner ce genre de problème. C'est toi qui a rajouté ces options dans le grub.cfg ?

    J'ai ajouté ces options via boot-repair (§7.3 de https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/kernel#modifier_les_parametres_du_noyau_pour_un_systeme_installe_sur_disque).

      Je t'ai demandé les références exactes du pc, par ça j'entends marque, modèle exact, carte graphique installée. C'est pour chercher sur internet si ce pc pose un problème quelconque sous linux. Le reste, c'est du blabla.
      Ces options il faut les essayer une par une.
      Commence avec l'option nomodeset seule.

    J'ai la carte-mère ASUS P8Z77-V LX2, qui sert aussi de carte graphique.
    Processeur : Intel Xeon E3-1200.

    J'ai déjà essayé :
    - avec l'option nomodeset seule.
    - nomodeset + acpi=off.
    - nomodeset + acpi=off + noapic.

    Ce que tu me dis, c'est d'essayer avec l'option acpi=off toute seule et avec l'option noapic toute seule, c'est ça ?
