Hello, I bought a gaming PC that is less than a year old. When I received it, I only had an Acer VGA screen. So I
plugged in a VGA cable like everyone would have done, but nothing happens; the screen stays in standby despite multiple
attempts. I did the same thing on my laptop (Asus), the screen turned on and I used it normally, but when I
connect it via VGA to my desktop PC, it doesn’t work. So I bought a Samsung FULL HD OPTI GAMING HDMI +
VGA screen; I connected it via HDMI and it worked, but when I connect it via VGA, it doesn’t work. The problem is with
my PC and not with the screen or the cable. The issue is that now that I have a good gaming experience, I want 2
screens, but since the Acer screen only has VGA, it doesn't work. I’m asking you what the problem is. My
Samsung screen works via HDMI on the top port of my tower; when I connect to the other HDMI port at the bottom of my tower
nothing happens. I tried connecting the VGA cable to my Samsung screen, but nothing happens. The VGA port is located
just above the HDMI port (which doesn’t work), aligned with it at the bottom of my tower. I’m wondering if it’s the graphics card or something else that isn’t working.
<config>Windows 10 Pro / GTX 960 / Intel Core i5 6400 < Samsung Screen via HDMI (functional) < /!\Acer Screen (It’s a bit old; it’s the problem) /!\

What is the graphics card? Has it received the latest drivers? Moreover, there are better options than the VGA (actually SVGA), which is analog; there should be a DVI port that is digital. The same goes for the monitor.
Indeed, it's either the monitor or the graphics card. And since the monitor has been changed, I can only see the card as the cause of these problems.
Rare, but it exists, a cable can also be defective.

I have the same problem with an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 graphics card. The VGA cable doesn’t work towards my Samsung PC monitor LS24F352FHUXEN, while the HDMI cable works perfectly.
