Problem importing MP4 files into Premiere Pro

Good evening,I am reaching out to you because I started a project on Adobe Premiere Pro a few weeks ago with video clips taken from my computer in MP4 format. Everything was working perfectly, and I even managed to start editing my project. I retrieved it today, but all my links are broken, and the files no longer appear in the "Project" window. The same happens when I use the media explorer to look for them; they do not appear...I suspect it's a CODEC issue, but I couldn't find anything online...Do you have any suggestions for me?Thank you in advance!LenaConfiguration: Windows 10 / Premiere Pro CC 2018

Hello, my idea is that I would opt for a backup oversight or a destination error. Either you created a "project" folder on your computer and provided the "path" to find it, or there is a "project" folder in your software's hierarchy and you need to search like C:users/Xxlena/programs/adobe/projects. If you managed to import your video and started editing, the mpeg4 format is not in question; you clicked on save as, gave a name to your project, selected the destination folder, and clicked okay.     "Donkeys change their minds, not fools." Remember to mark your message as "resolved" if that's the case.

Hello, first of all, there are 2 questions: what is a format, a container, mkv, mpeg2, mpeg4, AVI, a codec, dv, h264, h265?  .mp4 is the extension that names a file contained within an mpeg4 container and compressed with algorithms called codecs (coding-decoding). You need to check with MediaInfo what your mp4 file is made of; it can be created with different codecs, not all compatible with your software, for example at my place with DivX or Xvid if the clips come from the web as well.  I don't know the origin of your mp4s, but if they came from finalizing a project in Adobe Premiere, there wouldn't be a problem. If they came from the web, we can fear anything.  For the second question: you have a folder "My Captures" like in "Project", these are the thumbnails that will be found in your "Album". If your "My Captures" folder is empty, you can do it differently by importing your clips: "Import", search for the folder on your hard drive where these video clips are stored. If you can't find these clips, they're in the trash; I don't see any other places.  The only thing that can "disappear" are the projects that are virtual; they are not yet in mp4, they are in an APP format.  --  "Donkeys change their minds, not idiots."  Remember to mark your message as "Resolved" if that's the case.
