How to exit story mode in GTA V?

Hello, I have a question that might seem silly, but how do you exit story mode in GTA V?

    And you would like to get out of "story mode" to... go where?

    Apart from story mode and online mode, there aren't any others...

    For the online mode, it's during the loading screen and then via the pause menu while in "story" mode...

      So basically we can't leave story mode, that's what I understand, it annoys me.
