Dropdown menu no longer displays fonts

Hello,

I just switched from a MacBook to an iMac. Among the data recovered and transferred is my InDesign software version CS5.5.
But when I go to InDesign on the new computer, and for example I select text to change the font, and click on the dropdown menu, it appears empty (the arrow scrolls over emptiness!). When I open the software, the fonts are there (and have been imported). So it's a mystery to me! Has anyone ever dealt with this kind of weirdness?

Thanks in advance
Céline

Normally, you need to deactivate InDesign on the old computer before reinstalling and reactivating it on the new one... The transfer of software is not possible.

When you open an InDesign file from the old computer, is the text displayed normally or is it highlighted in pink?

Another avenue to explore, version 5.5 had bugs, check that you have the latest update for your version (especially since you should have a "MD" version given your geographical situation...)

Hello Contrariness,
Thank you for your reply! On the old computer, I still have InDesign and it works normally. When you say it needs to be disabled, what do you mean?
Furthermore, access to fonts via the Menu > Text > Font works. So I can still work. I have a version that dates back to France and was unofficially installed by a friend, so I can't do the updates...

To set up another installation with the same license, you need to deactivate it on one computer (menu "help") to activate it on another one..

Of course, this option may no longer exist with the "unofficial" versions..

The "unofficial" versions are a hassle the day they stop working... you can't tell where the problem comes from..
