Hello,

I apologize in advance, but I don't know where to post my question, so I'm posting it here in the hope that someone can help me.

So here it is, for my parents' wedding anniversary, I would like to give them a nice gift.
But to do this, I need to order it online, but I don't have a credit card (I'm 17, not 18 yet unfortunately), so I'm unable to order it.

Having heard about "prepaid" credit cards, I would like to know how they work, but especially where I can get one? (not online, as I can't pay online)

A card that works without a bank account and that I can recharge in cash.

The most well-known is still Compte Nickel, but the most practical thing is to ask a friend to lend you the money...
You ask them to use their debit card and you pay them in cash. At least there are no hassles or fees ;-)

You can check with your bank.
Because it offers one-time payment cards.
This way, it solves the problem and also limits the risk of data theft.

This type of service is very expensive compared to its usefulness.
Moreover, the e-CB must be linked to a credit card and therefore to a bank account... Since our friend is under 18, this type of product is subject to the signature of authorized individuals ;-) So not ideal for the surprise :-D

No need to have a credit card to get a disposable card.
However, I would be curious to know the price of the service.
Because you say it's very expensive, but everything is relative.

Comrade, do you confuse single-use cards like e-CB with rechargeable cards from payment institutions (like Nickel/PCS) and/or systematically authorized cards marketed by credit institutions (banks in common language)? Three products aimed at individuals but expensive to use for the first two. Fixed costs and/or percentage commissions when making cash deposits and withdrawals for the second solution. I invite you to check the brochures from the institutions :-)

I had looked into the second solution for my travels abroad, especially in the Balkans, but given the price, I went with good old cash.

I'm indeed talking about E-CB cards.
After a quick research, in fact, some banks associate them with a blue card.
While others do not.

So, it depends on the banks.
