Hello,

My grandparents just gave me a Bauer T240 projector with reels, however, when I turn it on, it just spins in place, meaning the reel that normally drives the film and produces the image does not turn..

Knowing nothing about this, I hope one of you can help me ;)

Thanks in advance

    Hello,
So your grandparents gave you a Super 8 projector and Super 8 films, I found the manual online in three clicks (are you a bit lazy?):
    https://manuall.fr/bauer-t240-sound-projecteur/
It's running idle because you haven't inserted the film into the projection path and attached it to the take-up reel (empty at the start) and you'll need to rewind on the supply reel (empty at the end) to be ready for another projection

Haha, thank you very much! Yes, I admit I didn't think to check!

      Have a good evening.

Oops, I think I replied a bit too quickly. Despite the notice, it's still not working. I properly placed the film in the projection hallway, but the receiving reel isn't turning at all; that's the problem...

And there might be a training problem; are you sure you placed the supply reel in the right spot? When running, only the take-up reel is driven, the supply reel being in "freewheel." Take a good look at the manual, chapter "Mounting the film reels."

Yes, I know, but the receiver doesn't even turn on, that's why the film is not being pulled through...

Try turning the spool axis by hand and see what happens inside; otherwise, take a clear photo (okay?) and I'll try to help you tomorrow because right now, I have an absolute emergency: it's cocktail time!!!

Oh yes, it seems like there's no more belt, it's working. I'll send you a picture.

Hello, I'm reopening the topic for the same request as Toinou... I have two projectors, one from the brand Heurtier Stéréovox and a Bauer T240. I previously had a technician who could replace the belts of the devices and other accessories, but the shop has closed. My Bauer projector stopped working during a screening last week; the motor runs fine inside (I opened it up), but the reel mechanism no longer turns. Maybe the belt is loose (because there is one)... I don't know and I'm not able to fix it on my own. So I'm looking for YouTube videos that could explain how to change a belt for that device. Do you have any references or expert advice? I found belts for sale, but if I don't know how to disassemble it, it doesn't help much. Thank you very much;)
