My laptop's WiFi signal is weak.

Question

Hello everyone,  Recently, my PC's wifi reception has been very poor. It works well when I'm in the living room (2m away from the router), but when I go into my bedroom, it only gets 1 bar or sometimes nothing at all. Yet, I place the PC on my dresser barely 1m from the router, even closer than when I’m in the living room...  I would like to point out that it used to work well, even when I was on the floor below in the house.  I also want to mention that I have updated the drivers for the network card (Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless -AC 3160) as well as all those present in the Network Adapter tab.  Does anyone have any ideas because it's very annoying?  Thank you very much in advance for your help,  Clément

Go to Device Manager What do you have in Network Adapters?  What is the brand and exact model number of the PC? Check the label on the bottom of the laptop.  --> Windows 7, 8 or 10? --> 32 or 64 bits?   The human being is at his best when things are at their worst.

Go to Control Panel Programs and Features Uninstall --> Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless...., if present Restart the PC. I’m out of ideas, try this last suggestion:  Right-click on the driver --> 200041603_76aaef......cab Choose --> extract all  Go to Device Manager Network adapters Uninstall (including all drivers) --> Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless....  Go to Control Panel Programs and Features Uninstall --> Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless and/or Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software Restart the PC.  Go to Device Manager. Right-click on the device in question Choose --> Update driver Choose --> Browse my computer for drivers Click on --> Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer... Click on --> Have Disk Browse Go to the folder of the unzipped driver --> 200041603_76aaef..... Select the file --> Netwbw02.INF Restart.   -- Human beings are at their best when things are at their worst.

I can't right-click on the device in question since it's no longer there  Is Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless no longer present in Device Manager?  Click on --> Action Scan for hardware changes.  What do you have under Network adapters? Do you have a section --> Other devices?  -- Human beings are at their best when things are at their worst.
