I can no longer move my objects in Illustrator.

Question

Hello,  I've been working on a project in Illustrator since this morning, everything was going well until I found myself unable to move my objects. I can select them, resize them, change their color, and they are not locked. I can group and ungroup them, but as soon as I try to move them with my mouse, an error sound is produced by the computer and the object doesn't move.  Thank you in advance for your responses.

Hello,  Check if in the Anchor point selection and display preferences, the "Selection by path only" box is not checked.  Otherwise, I don't see much.

Already had this issue in the past, if Photoshop is open at the same time as Illustrator, it sometimes happens that objects do not move when dragging. You just need to close Photoshop to solve the problem (you can reopen it later) If I remember correctly, the problem can also occur in reverse with Photoshop not managing paths/brushes/dropper when Illustrator is open, just a matter of luck

Before, I would save as a new file, but I just found a workaround that's less laborious.  - I create a new blank file in Illustrator and I create a new object. The function becomes normal again and I close this new file without saving. I still haven't found the source of this relatively frequent problem. (I had also closed Photoshop on the advice of another user, but that action alone didn’t resolve my issue).

I can no longer move my objects in Illustrator.
