How to report double spacing

Hello,

I am Brazilian, and before, when I used the Portuguese version of Word, it corrected double spaces between words, when typing something like this.

Do you know how to set up Word in French to indicate that there is a double space?

Thank you for your suggestions!

    Good evening

    The "automatic correction" of double spaces is not configurable in Word unlike other automatic corrections that allow for fixing repetitive typing errors.
    I don't see what could have been included in the Portuguese version.

    However, they can be replaced at the end of the input.
    - Ctrl H to replace
    - Find: enter 2 spaces
    - Replace with: enter 1 space
    - Replace all

    Thank you for your reply. In the Brazilian version, Word simply highlights the double space error with a green underline.
    But I will do the operation you told me about.

      That being said, it still exists! Maybe the option is not checked. You need to go to the proofing options, click on Settings (Grammar section), and check that the "Punctuation and Spacing" option is indeed checked.

        Yes exactly, but the option only signals. And... upon rereading... that's also what PaxBruno was ultimately asking for
        While I went straight for the correction, which needs to be done anyway.
