Hello everyone,
I just dug out an "old" Archos tablet that I bought about 5 years ago and have hardly ever used. The problem is, I accidentally deleted the Play Store, which was called something else back then (I can't remember the name), thinking I was removing some other useless program. I tried to reinstall it via an .APK app, and while the download goes smoothly, when I click on the bar to install it, an error message appears: "Parse error, there was a problem parsing the package."
I checked the box to allow files from unknown sources, I did a hard reset hoping that once it was restored to factory settings the Play Store would be back, but nothing works. Does anyone have an idea, please?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards
EDIT: I just tried downloading the app onto an SD card to install it directly from that source, and I still get the same error message...
Configuration: iPad / Safari 10.0

Ah okay, then it’s probably good, or even surely Android Marketing that I had, so I will rely on this app since Google Play is not compatible with my version.
Thank you for your help. ;)

Hello,
The Android version currently present is 2.4.83 (Android 2.2.1) according to what is indicated on the device, but I'm sure I had the Google Play Store before I deleted it. I found the name of what was originally used for downloading apps, it’s AppsLib.

No, you didn't have the Play Store but the Android Market.
The Play Store is now only compatible with Android 2.3 and above
