Hello,
I downloaded and installed Ad Aware Anti Virus 12. Everything went smoothly until it launched and asked me to update the definitions. Unfortunately!! Despite numerous attempts (e.g.: multiple crashes...) I tried to obtain an activation key via the application interface, but again without success. From what I understand, I'm not the only one having this problem... but since I can't find a solution, I'm turning to you in the hope that a forum member can provide me with their valuable assistance, which would be greatly appreciated. Indeed, it will save me from swearing like a sailor, which I have been doing for several hours now!!
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me out
Best regards
Pierre-Paul

Absolutely: at Lavasoft. I did try to get an answer on their site... but without success (?!)

I'm currently testing it, it updates well for me (for now)
      I'll keep you posted
Do you have any other antivirus?

Thank you young man for your help and moral support!!
No, I don’t have another antivirus. I used to have one but I uninstalled AVG because there was a major incompatibility with Ad Aware (crashes, blue screen of death, and other shenanigans like that), so after two hours I ended up deleting everything and reinstalling Ad Aware Antivirus Free 12 from scratch.

Did you buy the Pro version?
In the free version, you won't have much in terms of protection.

No, for the moment I've only installed the free version just to see what it's like. In fact, I just received the activation key from Lavasoft and I'm currently testing the free version 12. After that, I'll do some research for an antivirus software comparison. It seems to me that on my old PC I had installed Kaspersky which had - if I remember correctly - impressed me... We'll see.
In the meantime, I thank you for your valuable help, your wise advice, and for the time you've dedicated to me
I won't hesitate to keep you updated
      See you soon.
