Synchronize iPhone contacts and calendar with Mac

Solved

Hello,

I would like to sync my contacts and calendar from my iPhone to my MacBook Pro...

I have already tried in two different ways:

1)
- iPhone:
in iCloud: calendar and contacts are unchecked

- MacBook Pro:
in iCloud: calendar and contacts unchecked

- iTunes (HERE IS THE PROBLEM WITH SOLUTION NUMBER 1):
iTunes then offers to sync contacts and calendar. The problem is that nothing appears in the list on iTunes where my contacts are supposed to be, and after syncing, the contacts still do not show up. Only my Google calendar synced, not the calendar from my iPhone...

2)
- iPhone:
in iCloud: calendar and contacts checked

- MacBook Pro:
in iCloud: calendar and contacts checked
My contacts that were entered only on my Mac appear twice
and the calendar hasn't changed, only the events from my Google account are recorded.

- iTunes:
iTunes tells me that my contacts and calendar are in OTA mode (which means they are checked in iCloud) and therefore does not allow me to sync.

Can you help me please? None of these techniques work.

Thank you in advance.

Configuration: Configuration: Macintosh / Safari 10.0.3

Hello, start by logging into the website iCloud.com, enter your Apple ID, and check if your contacts and calendar are displayed on the website.
(the Apple account entered in iCloud must be the same on both the Mac and the iPhone)

    Hello,

    Thank you for your response!

On iCloud internet, the only contacts that appear are those I saved from my Mac when I was receiving an iMessage. And they show up twice...

Re, so your Mac and iCloud are well synchronized (let's put iMessage aside for now).
We need to determine why the iPhone is not synchronizing.
On your iPhone, plug it into its charger (not to the computer) and connect it to Wi-Fi. Disconnect the iCloud account (Settings/iCloud Sign Out at the bottom of the page); you will need to enter your Apple password and answer the question about what to do with the data, choose Keep. Wait 15/20 minutes and then reconnect to the iCloud account by enabling Calendar/Contacts and any other options you need. Wait and see if the contacts arrive on the iPhone.
If the contacts are present, check if the calendar is also there. If the calendar is not there, start the Calendar app, tap on Calendar at the bottom of the page, check if the proposed calendars are checked; if they are not checked, they will not display in the iPhone Calendar.
Question: Are your current contacts and calendar (on the Mac) linked to a "remote" account?
In other words, do they come from a Google, Microsoft, or other account?

      Hello,

I just did what you told me. On my iPhone, all my contacts and calendars are displayed after I logged back into iCloud. Additionally, the contacts that I had only entered on my Mac are also showing up on my iPhone.

But nothing has changed on the Mac side, no synchronization.
And no, they are not linked to a remote account...

Re, so you don't have any "remote contacts."
Still check on your iPhone (you have to be sure)
On the iPhone, go to Settings/Contacts and tap on Accounts, if any email addresses are set up on the iPhone, they will show up (your Apple account email should be displayed):
      - Apple account email: the Contacts option and other options activated according to your needs.
      - Email addresses other than Apple: the contacts option should not be activated (if Contacts is activated, that explains why you can't find them on your Mac).
      Check and let me know....

If indeed only the Contacts from the Apple account email is activated and not the others (if there are any) disconnect iCloud from your Apple on your Mac, wait 15/20 minutes then reactivate iCloud on your Mac and see if your contacts sync (create a fake contact to test).

      Hi,

Indeed, my contacts were also linked to my Yahoo account, I've just unchecked that on my iPhone...

      What should I do next?

      Thank you again!

Ah, things are getting complicated. Can you confirm that the contacts not appearing on your Mac are from your Yahoo account?
Since you unchecked the Contacts option in the Yahoo account, does the iPhone still display them?
At this point, the only solution I see is that you'll have to manually recreate the contacts on your Mac or iPhone, and logically they will sync between your devices. Make sure to create the contacts in the correct Contacts directory (default account); to ensure you do it correctly, log in to the iCloud.com webpage, choose Contacts, and create them from there.

There is certainly another solution to keep the contacts on each of the accounts (Apple account and Yahoo account). Set up your Yahoo email address on your Mac, see if the contacts tab appears in the account; you should find your Yahoo contacts. I can't guarantee this will work as I've read in the past about issues related to Yahoo accounts. In any case, the Yahoo account setup on your Mac must be in IMAP and not in POP. Log in to your YAHOO account via the internet and see if there's help to set up another device in IMAP, or check the Yahoo account settings on your iPhone and see how to configure your Mac with the same information. If you manage to do this, reactivate the Contacts option in the Yahoo account on the iPhone. This way, the two directories will remain separate.
