How to remove a blue outline on the visited page?

Hello,

I am using Windows 8.1 and my browser is Internet Explorer, which is the most convenient for me. I also have Google Chrome (which is not my homepage).
For some time now, I have a blue rectangle that outlines the visited page or, at least, on a much smaller scale, the last letter when I type (like right now...). This bothers me...
Not being very tech-savvy, and in the absence of someone nearby who could help me, I thank in advance anyone who would kindly be willing to help me solve this problem...
