Hello,
I have an Acer V 17 Nitro PC (Windows 8.1) and, for several months now, the C drive of 55 GB has been full. However, when I look at the number of GB used by the folders and files on this drive, I find 46.9 GB (with the Windows folder taking up 33 GB). I tried to fix this with Acer support about 3-4 months ago, but the person told me that the remaining GB were used to run the PC. Fine. So I began to free up space from the GB I occupied by deleting restore points, deleting Temp files (even those in hidden files), and using CCleaner. This allowed me to free up 4 GB at the time, but now the drive is saturated again, and the cleanup only allows me to free up 50 to 100 MB.
Another piece of information: I used the Reg Edit function to move as many files and all downloads to my other D drive (which is 1 TB).
Does anyone have a solution to free up my C drive?
Thanks.

Hi,
55.09GB is small, especially if you have videos in your user profile.
You then need to check what is taking up space unusually with the tools provided in the previous link.
Some points to check mentioned in the link:
- Clean up with the Windows cleanup tool.
- If space is still missing, install one of the recommended software to see what is using the most and find any unusual usage (it can happen that the antivirus is acting up).
- Check for misconfigurations, System Restore, Antivirus, etc... (follow the tutorial)
- or the Windows 10 update.
In the provided link, you have utilities like WinDirStat that allow you to see what is using disk space.

The SSD needs to be replaced with one that has a larger capacity.
If it's the user data that takes up space, he can move it.
