Hello,
I am reaching out for your help this December evening because after a week of not using it, my audio setup (turntable + amp + speakers) is producing a strange sound with voices sounding like they've been helium-treated (at this point, Johnny sounds like a teletubby.....).
I don't understand where this is coming from; maybe the cartridge is worn out even though that seems doubtful since I replaced it 4 months ago....
I've tried with other records, I’ve reconnected everything but nothing works. I must admit I’m still quite a novice.....
Would a kind and lost soul on this forum have an answer or an idea for my question?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello Chemskill,
In addition to the pitch of the sound, is the tempo sped up?
If you have a 33/45 RPM selector on the turntable, make sure it's set to 33 RPM... You might also have a knob or potentiometer (pitch adjust) to fine-tune the rotation speed of the platter. If that's the case, you should see small squares lit by a red light (a stroboscope) on the edge of the platter. The correct speed is reached when the small lit squares appear static and do not seem to move in the direction of the record or in the opposite direction.
Is it working normally again?
