Hello,
First of all, lolèl the title,
then, we’re in 2016, my first question ever that I’m posting on a forum because the answer hasn’t been there since 2004...
So, here’s my problem, I have an iso file that I want to put on a bootable USB drive using Rufus (run as administrator) to indeed boot directly from the BIOS, like when you want to reinstall Windows.
https://i37.servimg.com/u/f37/10/07/24/68/rufus210.jpg
I do, naturally, as follows:
(I choose NTFS since the USB drive is 64GB, I’ve tried FAT32, that doesn’t work either anyway...), I select the DD image option, so I get the message that you see just below that appears, so far, everything is normal.
Except that when I confirm this window, here’s the new window that appears:
https://i37.servimg.com/u/f37/10/07/24/68/rufus210.jpg
And there, I’m stuck... I’ve turned the USB drive in all directions, I’ve tried with another one, I’ve tried with Daemon Tool, I’ve tried with the command, nothing works. I’m stuck at this step that seems silly.
Thank you in advance for your clarifications if possible.

Well, I have applied everything that has been said on this page since the beginning...
Namely: Fat32 / NTFS, BIOS / GPT, ImageISO / Image DD
-> all of it in every possible combination, of course, and focusing more on GPT (my BIOS being EFI) and on Fat32
-> all of this on 3 different USB drives
-> on 3 different USB ports,
always, without hesitation and with no loading, the same window appears regarding access denied to the device...
On each of these drives, it is possible to create a .txt, write and save it.
– Not using any antivirus and not having one installed, the problem cannot come from there,
– I always open Rufus as an administrator.
I reviewed your tutorial Malekal, which by the way seems very intuitive and well expressed, it looks easy to set up when it works in return (it's not my case).
– The Linux Live USB Creator tool seems mainly to promote the creation of a virtual machine, which I do not want for this case.
– The Windows USB/DVD Download Tool (which worked very well for my Windows and which I therefore recommend for this) did not work for my ISO.
– Rufus refuses me despite all my combinations and multiple attempts.
The ISO I am trying to install is the one present on this page:
https://www.qubes-os.org/downloads/
version 3.2 present on the blue ISO button as well as on the blue Torrent button (I had time to try both which are the same).
And finally, regarding the deletion of the partition in disk management, the choice: “delete volume” is grayed out for the three drives in question (I don’t know why).
With all these elements, does any suggestion come to your mind?
I admit it's despairing and it's not for lack of good will, especially since I have no choice but to find a solution, the fact that it is delayed for something so trivial and probably not proportionately rewarding reboots me... (lol yellow)

In this tutorial explaining how to install this ISO, he uses Rufus at 2m35.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcUUAGdAFHo&feature=youtu.be
By the way, it might be interesting for you to watch this part because he clearly states that ABOVE ALL, you should create it as ImageDD and not as ISO (and it seems to work)
so I don't know why you don't agree on this subject, nor what the real difference is between the two, and above all, why does it work for him and not for me?!
I found a solution with Diskpart
You open Diskpart in the command prompt
You type list disk
Then you type select disk x with x being the number of the disk, so the key you want to use
Then you type clean
And there you go, this time Rufus will do the job without any problem
