Hello!

I need help because my Philips Go Gear Vibe MP4 is not detected by my computer; my MP4 does not switch to "connected to the computer" mode, instead, it starts charging. Moreover, I don't know if it's an issue with my MP4 or my computer. I tested my MP4 by connecting it to my radio and switching it to "USB" mode, and of course, I plugged in my MP4, but nothing happened; my MP4 does not "connect" to the radio either, so I'm leaning more towards the idea that my MP4 has a problem. On top of that, that same evening, after this, I couldn't turn it on anymore, even when charging... nothing. My sister told me that it might be because the battery is dead, but first, the MP4 was charged, and second, it didn't show that the battery was completely dead. The next day, I tried to turn it on, and to my surprise, it showed that the battery was dead, so I put it to charge, etc., and it's working now. Also, I connected it with other cables (compatible, of course ^^) because I can't find its original cable anymore.

There are so many possibilities that I don't know what to do anymore...

If you could help me...

Thanks in advance :D

Hello Kareva56,

What operating system is your PC running? Because if it is newer than those listed as compatible with your GoGEAR Vibe: Windows XP (SP3) / Windows Vista / Windows 7, it won't be recognized anyway...

Otherwise, do a little reset by inserting the tip of a pen into the small "RESET" hole for 10 seconds to reset it so that it is detected when you connect it to your PC.

Hello,

first of all, thank you for getting back to me,

the operating system of my PC is Windows (7)

so I did what you told me, pressed the "Reset" with a pen tip for 10 seconds and nothing, it doesn't change, it keeps charging instead of connecting to the computer.

On the MP4 in the settings there's "format device", maybe that would work? but then I would lose all the data..

I also add that we have another MP4 that I just connected to the computer and it also keeps charging instead of connecting to the computer..

After resetting to factory settings and reformatting my mp4, a few minutes later I found the original cable and it works, it connects well to the computer :D
