Putting my iPad to sleep

Hello, when I start an application, it goes to sleep after a few minutes.
I have had this one for 4 years and it's an iPad 2.

    Hello,

    Try accessing Settings > General > Auto-Lock.

    Tap "Never" to disable sleep and locking.

    See if that makes any difference.
