Hello,
For a few days now, when I close the lid of my laptop or press the power button, the computer completely shuts down instead of going into sleep mode. I checked the power settings and it clearly says "Sleep" and not "Shut Down" or "Hibernate" in the various options. Even when I press the sleep button, the machine turns off.
Recently, I noticed that an update for Adobe Reader was installed, but I don't think it’s related.
I hope you can help me resolve this issue as it's very bothersome. Please feel free to ask me for more details or information. (I should mention that I haven’t found any help on various forums, hence this new post)
Thank you

After several attempts, reinstalls of Windows, and a visit to a FNAC technician, I found the solution!
You just need to reflash the BIOS. In short, your BIOS is most likely already up to date. It's impossible to reinstall the same version in the traditional way. There is an alternate way to do it without risk. If you are like me using an Asus computer, use the winflash software with the /nodate. Here is a link in English for the procedure:

If your computer is not an Asus, look up topics on this subject. Many are in English!
At first, I was skeptical about this method, which I thought was unnecessary (reinstalling the same version of the BIOS!) and even considered dangerous for my computer according to certain sites. But it works, and moreover, my computer starts up much faster!
