Clone a Windows 95 system

Hello,

I have a computer running Windows 95, unfortunately my hard drive is showing signs of weakness... at the same time it's a bit normal after all these years going around in circles :)

I managed to install Windows 95 on a hard drive and a newer PC and it runs without issues, but I would like to clone the old hard drive to get the same configuration and the same programs installed on it.

I tested G4L with negative results, then I tried with Clonezilla but that didn't work either..

Does anyone have a lead so I can clone my Windows 95? I should specify that I want to use a live CD, as I think it's the simplest...

Thank you.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 51.0.2704.79

Hi,

Try using Clonezilla.

Hi, I have already tried with several Clonezilla ISOs (except the 64-bit ones) but I always get the same error with several different hard drives...

I will redo the test in order to provide you with the precise error encountered each time.

If you have errors, try EASEUS Todo Backup Free.

Download CrystalDiskInfo to check the health status of the hard drive.

Here is the error message encountered with Clonezilla:

"fatclone.c: Filesystem isn't in valid state. May be it is not cleanly unmounted"

And this occurs with all my hard drives of all sizes; I even formatted one in fat but nothing works...

For Easeus Todo Backup, I can't use it because my original hard drive doesn't recognize the DVD drive, hence my search for a live CD, tool, or Linux...

In any case, thank you for your suggestions.

We will try differently.

It is with this tool that I used to clone or create disk images on computers before, it’s Acronis True Image.

You can find it for free in Depanium.

It’s a live CD or USB (which is faster) that allows you to create a disk image at startup before Windows runs.
It takes 10 minutes to create and the same to restore.

Personally, I use it frequently as it avoids having to reinstall everything, which takes a long time.

An image made at the beginning and another that I keep when I make significant changes (for example installing Office).

Read the description carefully; it’s quite interesting.

Instead of burning it to a CD, you put it on a USB stick given the issue you have with the drive.
The only downside is that you need to have at least 1 GB of memory to launch the Live CD.

Hello,

With dd from Linux.
see: https://www.malekal.com/comment-cloner-son-disque-dur/

With dd, what runs on the PC doesn't matter.
It should also work with Gparted in graphical mode.

Please press a key to continue the disinfection...
