My PC won't install anything anymore!

Hello,

For some time now, my PC has barely been able to install anything; 95% of the installations I try end with an error related to Windows Installer or don't start at all. (msi.dll is not designed to run on Windows or contains an error)

I've tested dozens and dozens of things to counter the problem, but nothing works, I have no idea what to do anymore, especially since I work as a freelancer on my PC, so I'm completely stuck. I tried resetting the PC while keeping my files, but still the same, nothing works.

So, if you need more information, feel free to ask, and I will do my best to provide what you need. I really hope one of you can help me!

Hello,

-Try to check for disk errors
open This PC --> right-click on drive (C) --> properties --> tools tab
then click on Check

-Verification and repair of system files
Ctrl + ALT + Del
Launch Task Manager
Click on File > Run new task
type: cmd and check the box Create this task with administrative privileges
type or copy/paste in the command prompt window:
sfc /scannow (space between sfc and / then press Enter)

if there are errors: in the command prompt copy/paste:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

(then press Enter)

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

(then press Enter)

the process takes about 20 minutes, do not open other applications
see if it works.

- If you are on version 1511 of Windows 10, upgrade to version 1607
note that it takes quite a long time--> 2 hours
Start button or Windows key + i --> Settings
Update and Security --> click on the line "Learn more"
