These old turntables need a RIAA correction preamp.
This preamp is included if the amplifier has a "Phono" input, which can be found on old amplifiers and, currently, due to the vinyl trend, on recent amplifiers.
If your amplifier doesn't have a phono input but only line inputs, you will need to buy an external preamp, for example this one:
