Hello,

I apologize in advance if my message is off-topic, but I have already found some discussions about ellipticals on the forum, so I'm giving it a shot!

A friend gave me a Pro-Form 585 EKG elliptical bike. When I turn on the console by pressing the ON/Reset button and start pedaling, nothing happens on the screen: the timer doesn’t start, the mileage, calories, and speed don’t register either. I can use the machine and pedal, but I would like to have that information too! Can you help me?

In fact, the system, like many others, needs a reset from time to time. So, I unplugged the power connector from the power supply and then plugged it back in while leaving the unit powered by the mains, and everything started working again.

I also have a friend who gave me an elliptical, and like you, I have exactly the same problems; the console readings stay at zero when I pedal. Did you find out what the issue was? And if you didn't find it, are you still using the bike? I'm worried about damaging it. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hello,
I still haven't found out where it's coming from because I haven't had the time to take it apart yet, but yes, I'm using it, and it does make me sweat quite a bit. I don't think it damages the bike; it's just a pity that you can't adjust the resistance, nor track your calories and kilometers :/

Apparently, they haven't found... or haven't thought to provide the solution!

Is there a wire going from the sensor to the console or is it wireless?
If it’s WIRELESS, is there also a battery in the sensor... --

There is a wire going from the sensor to the console and all the wires are connected...

You need to see if the sensor is properly positioned...

Hello, on my elliptical there are no visible wires and I have the same issue. I did not find the link in your first comment, could you please resend it to me? It will be useful for changing the battery in the sensor. Thank you in advance. Best regards, Laurence.

Hello, I have exactly the same problem as you. I put 2 new batteries in the F400 console and the screen is still on and shows 0 everywhere. There are wires. Thank you very much for your help, Paolo.

Yes, the batteries are good, in fact the screen turns on and it reads my heart rate if I place my hands on the contact grips, I can choose the program, the resistance, but it’s as if the pedals are not communicating with the console?

I think there's a thread inside, I didn't assemble it so I'm not sure. I'll try to see about taking it apart...
