Be careful with Astra's collective distribution in Spain, sometimes only the transponders broadcasting Spanish channels are distributed...

Hello, after getting information from a friend working at
Boulanger, the brand of the antenna has nothing to do with it!!!
You just need to look closely at the number of connections behind
your decoder and check at the time of purchase.

    Best regards.

Astra is not an antenna brand; it's the satellite you tune into to receive TV. There are several satellites around the world, but the one that covers the most area in France is Astra.

So, I'm rephrasing my question :) since the arrival of HD we are being asked to change our decoder. It's in Spain and I bought a new one but it can only pick up Astra 172,.. and I need to have 1E, 2C and so I don't know which one I should buy. I don't have a cable, it's a satellite dish on top of an apartment building.

choice: an HD terminal (MPEG 4) labeled Canal Ready for Tntsat (at least 26 free national French channels), or canalsat, comes with a satellite dish pointed at Astra 1, 19.2 E. It also works abroad, EU...

Seen in large stores and DIY shops, starting from €99...

( do not be swayed by internet TV box solutions (IPTV), especially abroad, as they are affected by geoblocking, unless using a VPN...)

Be careful before purchasing as there are currently strange promotions at very, very attractive prices.... but without explaining why!!!

    Choosing wisely..

These 2 C+ lists published just 6 months before the deadline!!!! are also useful for portable satellite TV in camper vans via fixed satellite antennas (dish or flat, e.g. Selfsat) either connected or remote, especially on a portable tripod. Be sure to check for electrical compatibility with some semi-automated or fully automated motorized antennas....

R-Maj list of decryption modules Canal Ready compatible with 39 canalsat - Canal+ cards or the Tntsat card valid for 4 years. If the validity limit is approaching, plan for renewal at least 45 days in advance!! ..

Canal does not send its cards with address labels abroad. In this case, go through a third party in France who will send it to the final recipient expatriated in Europe..

UPDATE: Publication by the Canal group of the new list of terminals (= satellite receiver or decoder) Viaccess Orca compatible with paid bouquets Canalsat or Canal+ in 2017 and still Tntsat... Some receivers that had been removed are back but with restrictive manufacturer mentions. Software updates are expected, which may be followed by a reset (return to factory settings) depending on the case.....

      http://static.lesoffrescanal.fr/canal_ready/Decodeurs_TNTSAT_CanalReady.pdf
A majority of these are compatible with fixed multisat Diseqc 1 or 1.1 and even motorized Diseqc 1.2

The old receivers that can no longer be updated will remain compatible with the TNTSAT card, for example for a second TV, if the dish is equipped with a dual-output LNB and two independent cables (no splitter or T or Y which are banned in satellite TV)

The Viaccess Orca encryption change for Canalsat and Canal+ has been postponed to January 23, 2017.

Owners of a Humax TN5000HD or TN5050HDR must urgently download the new software version 1.14 over-the-air, or they will no longer be able to access the pay channels of the Canal Plus Group.

The update does not directly concern the free TNTsat bouquet.

If the decoder is "sleeping" at a secondary residence, things get complicated...

Hi, if you have an internet box whether it’s Orange, SFR or Bouygues (I’m not sure about the others), you can ask for a decoder for free if you don’t have one, as it’s normally included in your plan (most of them are Internet + Landline + TV).

With the operators' decoders, you have 3 different ways to receive TV: the first is via Ethernet cable (I recommend this as it works really well when you have a good bandwidth), the classic rooftop antenna (quite poor in case of wind) and satellite (specifically Astra).

However, if you are in an area where you don’t receive sufficient ADSL for TV, the operator will send you a decoder that is only satellite and you won't be able to use Ethernet or the classic rooftop antenna.

A technician can come to install everything (antenna + decoder) for around 30-50 euros; I know Orange offers this, but I'm not sure about the others...

I hope I’ve helped you. Please keep me updated on what you choose.
