Hello everyone, I hope this question hasn't already been addressed... When I launch the mail merge function from Word and want to select an Excel file as the recipient, it doesn't work. The message mentions a converter issue. Curiously, it worked once or twice, but that’s it... Never again. I updated Word and Excel 2015, I created an empty "Microsoft" folder in ~/Library/Preferences as suggested on a blog, still, it doesn’t work. Word cannot open the data source. A colleague on Mac is having the same issue, while another one has no problems. Do you have any suggestions for me? Thank you in advance. LJ

Good evening BERNARD, thank you for your response. MAC OSX: EL CAPITAN Version 10.11.1; WORD Version 15.22.1 (160512), so presumably 2016; EXCEL Version 15.22 (160506), so presumably also 2016. It is an XLSM file. Database created by a friend and runs perfectly on PC. Good thinking and have a good evening. LJ

You have the answer: it's an .xlsm workbook, it won't work. It's unfortunate but that's how it is (and it was already like that in Excel 2011, maybe also 2008, I don't remember...)

Save it as .xlsx and everything should go smoothly...

Thank you so much... Side question: The macros are not working anymore. Is it possible to make the macros work with an XLSX extension? Thank you in advance.

No more subsidiary questions, we're moving to XLS extension and everything is working perfectly. Thank you very much, have an excellent weekend. LJ
