Hello,
I decided to clean up my computer which has absolutely no memory left; the OS disk (C:) is full, and I've managed to free up 14GB out of 119GB. I don't know much about this and I'm not sure how to free up space.
I noticed that the Data disk (D:) is almost empty. What is this hard drive? Can I put stuff on it (images, music, movies...)? Because while searching the internet, I saw that HP strongly advises against putting files on this disk since it would be used in case of problems, but then on some forums, I feel like I'm reading that you can do this and that it's sometimes actually recommended to put certain files on OS and others on D for images and everything. I want to understand and know what I can do!

Hello,
Right-click on the folders My Documents, My Pictures, etc. in the explorer, then properties.
Select the Location tab and then Move.
Enter the path D:/.
Example: D:/My Documents, D:/My Pictures, etc.
Create the same folders on D:/ beforehand; it will make it easier to move the data.
For the move, you will get a message asking if you really want to move the files; you should respond affirmatively.
All files will go to the D:/ Data drive.
Data = data
This partition is meant for backups.
In case of a Windows reset, the files are not deleted, unlike those that remain on the C:/ drive.
Never leave personal files/folders on the desktop or in the My Documents, My Pictures, My Music, etc. folder, lest you lose them if the location is C:/ instead of D:/.
By moving the folders, you will free up space on C:/.
