Hello,
As part of my work, I created an Excel file and some cells should be filled in by users while others should not be modified. I'm looking for a way for users to easily identify the cells to be edited: a formatting, a background color, etc., but this should not be visible when printing, which is causing me a problem! Does anyone have an idea, please?
Thank you in advance.

set yourself on the cell where the data must be entered
- CONDITIONAL FORMATTING
- Cell highlight rule
- Other rules
- click: on apply formatting only to cells that contain
- in MODIFY THE DESCRIPTION OF THE RULE
- choose: empty cells
and create the formatting (yellow for example)
all cells that are to receive information will be yellow and as soon as they are filled, the highlighting will disappear both on the screen and in print

Thank you for your response. However, most of the cells to be modified are dropdown lists, and they are not empty when the file is opened. Also, the file will be transformed several times and given to several people on screen who won't be familiar with it. The cells should always be colored on screen but not when printed... Could we possibly use a macro that removes the formatting before printing?
Hello.
To work around the issue, I suggest you insert a comment in each of these cells.
This way, on the screen, you see that little red triangle in the top right corner of the cell, which does not print ...
